THE FIRM Legal Help exists because finding a lawyer usually starts with a problem you do not fully understand, in a system built for people who already do.
We publish plain-language guides to every major area of law — what that kind of lawyer actually does, when you need one, what to ask before you hire and where the official resources are — in English and Spanish. Alongside the guides, we run a nationwide directory of law firms that is free for lawyers to join and reviewed before anything goes live.
How the directory works
- Lawyers submit their firm through the listing form.
- We check the responsible attorney against the state bar before approving.
- Approved firms get a profile page and appear on matching state, city and practice-area pages.
- Basic listings are free. A paid featured tier for top placement is planned; featured listings will always be labeled.
What we are not
We are not a law firm, a lawyer referral service or a substitute for legal advice. Nothing on this site creates an attorney-client relationship. Listing on this site is not an endorsement, and you should verify any lawyer's license directly with the state bar — every state page links to it.
